My project ----------------------------------- Residence in China
This link will take you to my presentation http://www.slideshare.net/secret/6FpbLsC77e5j52... while you are watching the presentation, for each slide you see, you will see an audio to play in this wiki.
The project consists on designing a residence for teachers. It is supposed to be around a plaza and next to other buildings that will have the same function of my design. At the other side of the square, some artist houses will be built. The building only has two facades, because at the other facades other constructions will be built.
Explaining the spatial organization of the residence, it will have twenty-four apartments, each one with a little living room that works for a study room, and kitchenette. Six of the apartments are duplex and the rest are simple. These apartments will be rented for the time the teacher needs to be at the place. In the common areas the construction will have a: cafeteria, library, gym, some mini-shops, and a cyber that works for a coffee-shop and a bookstore. All these common spaces are design so that the teachers feel comfortable at the time they stay in the residence.
The construction will be basically made of concrete and glass, but to make it more stable it will have some bricks at their outside walls and some steel in its columns. The building has a vertical rectangular form, compose of 14 floors. It appearance is a parallelepiped form. In the upper ceiling, you will find a ceiling made of glass that will permit the sunlight penetrate the building from the top, and will have windows and open spaces that will illuminate the residence. In some spaces you can find high ceilings stories that make the space more open and comfortable for so many people. The building will have stairs and an elevator so the teachers could get to the place they need.
To conclude, this comfortable building will help the visitors, which in this case are all teachers and professors; have a nice stay with nothing to need outside of it, because in this little construction they have pretty much the basic elements a person needs. So it is functional, comfortable and nice.
